Vault 81 is situated in the central region of the Commonwealth map, making it relatively accessible after leaving Sanctuary. Players can discover the entrance located south of the Beantown Brewery and directly west of the Chestnut Hillock Reservoir. The physical entryway is built into a rock cave tucked into a hillside near railroad tracks south of Oberland Station.
Approaching the Vault Entrance
Upon arriving at the designated hill, players will notice floodlights highlighting a cavern opening. Walking through this cavern leads directly to the massive gear-shaped blast door typical of Vault-Tec facilities.
